The Bean Wears This

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
 Sticky Cheeks: Jam on Hawthorne, Hat: Gap, Sweater: H&M, Chambray: Gap,
Pants: H&M, Shoes: Zara

And this is why a "Baby Sartorialist," does not exist.

Dressing/documenting toddlers is like herding cats.
Angry, apple-juice covered, striped sweater-wearing, nap-skipping...cats.

The Bean Wears This

Beanie: H&M, Sweatshirt: H&M, Vest: Old Navy, Pants: H&M, Shoes: Zara

We like to call this the "One Less Lonely Girl" outfit.
Which is ironic, because there will, indeed, be a lot of lonely girls for quite a long time.
{He's not dating anyone until, oh, 2045}

Especially after these photos.
There's a hint of "smolder" in that last one.

Sheesh.

Mom Jeans

Boots: Thrifted, Jeans: Kut, Chambray: Target, Sweatshirt: DIY

That sneaky 25th year of life is creeping up on me.
Twenty. Five.
Otherwise known as,
Holy. Cow.

Which is almost Thirty. And practically Forty.
With a hint of Fifty.

My wide bootcut denim is quickly becoming a gateway jean to tapered elastic SNL skits involving Tina Fey.

Breathe in. Breathe out.
Just numbers. Silly old numbers. Nothing more, nothing less.

Who am I kidding,
 I've always been somewhat of an old soul anyway.
At age 10 {and apparently going on 110}, I dressed up as George Frideric Handel for Halloween.
Complete with powdered wig.

And parts of my beauty routine now, involve Elizabeth Arden for goodness' sake.

...

But some parts still involve Bonne Bell.
And the closet part is involving a whole lot of Forever 21.

Crap.

Vintage Priorities

This outfit post could be titled,
"A Sunny Afternoon in Homage to Annie Hall."
or,
"1970s Librarian's Puzzled Expressions Over Husband's Camera Handling."

But really, it should be, has to be, and must be best captioned as,
"Umm. Excuse Me. Hi. Why Is No One Playing Trains With Me?"

Some People Call Me Bunny

Jacket: Angie
Dress: Lush
Socks: Urban Outfitters
Sandals: Thrifted
Sunglasses: Fuego

I think Spring is here in Oregon!
Finally. I make it sound like I've endured a frigid winter in a log cabin or something.
But I digress.
This may or may not be 2011's Easter Egg Hunt Outfit. Totally legit.
Done and done.

Don't mind the bare and wintery-looking tree branches behind me. Just focus on the bright green grass. The same bright green grass that will soon attempt to knock me out via seasonal allergies.
And
Don't even get me started on the fluffy cotton balls that will begin floating through the air.
{Note: I am excited for Spring. Honestly.}
The sunshine far outweighs all of this and more.

Somehow, I look semi-tan in this photo. I think the white lace headband and knee highs are balancing it all out. In person, I might blind you. At least, my thighs would.
Awkward.

Have you said hello to Spring? Or are you still hibernating?

Panache

Top: Flying Tomato
Plaid: Daniel's
Belt: F21
Beanie: F21
Earrings: Gift
Jeans: Cheap Monday
Boots: Thrifted

I've always dressed according to my moods. How I feel, as opposed to what I'll actually be doing for the day.
Impractical? Sometimes.
Fun? Always.
Recently, I was feeling a little rocker-ish. A smidge of Portland. A hint of 90s. Maybe it was the carefree hair or the grey weather.
Whatever it may be,
I'm just a girl who likes to play dress-up in my closet.
Then I go out into the real world and have my stud hubs take pictures of me.
So Rock & Roll.

What's your style philosophy?

Today: {How-To} Wear a Scarf the Bon Bon Way

My love for scarves runs deep thanks to the rainy city I live in and the extra amount of pizzazz they add to any outfit. I'm all about warmth and pizzazz in my life. Here are just a few ways I like to wear my scarf all around town, or as I awkwardly sit in front of my macbook. All for the love of scarves and fashion, people.

{ho hum}
{methinks this outfit is missing something}

{bingo. now what?}

{hmmm. typical}

{perfect for my new russian family and life as a future babushka}

{cozy eternity style}

{nevermind. today I want to be a gypsy}

Want to be gypsy friends with me? Here's a how-to within a how-to. I know, my brain can hardly comprehend it.

{Step 1: wrap around forehead}
{p.s. if you are using a square scarf, 1st fold into a triangle}

{Step 2: cross ends in the back}

{Step 3: bring both ends forward}

{Step 4: cross/knot}

{Step 5: tuck ends up and under}

{Step 6: fluff and primp}

{Step 7: good to go conquer the world/join the circus/tell some fortunes/etc}

Goodness gracious. Enough photos of me. Where are my manners? I haven't even said hello to you lovelies!

{so}

"Hello!"
"Happy Wednesday!"

{and}

"How do you like to wear your scarf?"

Ballerina Bon Bon

Recently we watched this movie.

It was pretty. It was dark. White Swan. Black Swan. Ballet scenes and oh.my.not.for.the.faint.of.heart.scenes. Black moments encompassed the majority of the film, but the mixture of beautiful and gloomy was so intertwined, that by the end of it, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Did something ethereal just happen, or plain ol' crazy?

I still can't decide if I even liked the darn thing. Your thoughts?

Regardless, it was the fashion that inspired me most. Hello Rodarte! Hello cashmere, leggings, shrugs, airy skirts, off-shoulder sweaters and tights in grey, nude, and blush tones. Long gone are my days at the barre in my pink leotard, {maybe that's why I've become so clumsy in life. sad story}, but I can still pretend to be graceful!

Here's my interpretation of Swan Lake via my closet. I pulled out a few things that make me feel like a dainty ballerina and I possibly did a pliƩ or two along the way, just saying.
