18 Weeks and Looking Kinda Pregnant

{where are youuuuuu?}

Here's the baby bump, in all its glory!

Or lack thereof.
Anticlimactic, right?

If I didn't hear the heartbeat, see the ultrasound, and feel the little bean twirling around this week, then I would still assume babies are delivered by storks.

Which reminds me of my birth plan I've been discussing with my midwife.
Au naturel, my friends.
Yelling at Daniel for drugs and storks is inevitable.
Unless he's passed out.

We might need to perform a mock delivery with a Cabbage Patch doll and some ketchup.
Just keeping it real.

Moving on from that image.

Bump growth should be occurring soon, and not just after I eat a pulled pork sandwich.
Until then, Baby Bean is probably hiding behind my bladder or something.
At least that's what it feels like, after bathroom visit #17 on any given day.

P.S. What do you guys think: Boy or Girl? We find out next week!

I Am Woman

Ahhh, my summer as a boy...Is this when my love of Legos and Matchbox cars began? Is this how I gained my inner confidence, positive outlook on life, and dry sense of humor? Perhaps.

At least my hair grows fast.

The Skinny on...Skin

{the ol' epidermis}

My Skin Story
I'll attribute my Korean genes for my (usually) easy to manage skin. Growing up, if I wasn't modeling, then I wasn't wearing makeup. I was a soap and water kind of girl. Then, I lived in Africa for 4 months, without running water, makeup, meat, or dairy. Needless to say, my system was shocked when I returned to the states.

That's when I realized the importance of taking care of my skin and finding a personalized regimen.

Here's how I like to do it.

*Drink water! Everyday. All day long. Clear Pee, Clear Face. That's my motto. I know, I'm like a modern day Confucious.

*
Eat well! Your skin is the biggest organ you have, and one of the first places that toxins will try to escape out of. Good bacteria vs. bad bacteria. Many skin issues can be traced back to what you are putting in your body.

*
Wash your face before bed! It's a great habit to get yourself into. Take off your makeup, as well as any environmental pollutants in the air that have settled on your skin during the day. (Dust/Smog/Pollen/Smoke/etc).

*
Let your skin breathe! Take a few days here and there to go on a makeup vacation. Think tinted moisturizers instead of heavy foundations, if the thought of being bare faced makes your squirm. (I know, some days I slather it all on and thank the makeup gods above for cover-up and a full coverage finish).

*
Natural products are kind of amazing! Try to avoid using (too many) harsh chemicals and abrasive scrubs on your face. Think gentle cleansers. You want to keep the PH of your skin balanced, so don't strip it of natural oils if you want it to perform a healthy regenerating process.

*
Moisturize moisturize moisturize! Your skin soaks up everything you put on it. With the right moisturizer, it's like giving your face a drink of water.

*
Sunscreen! Make it a part of your morning routine. Ever see an older woman with amazing glowing skin and barely any wrinkles? It's either from sunscreen...or plastic surgery. We'll assume sunscreen!

Favorite Face Things
*Cleanser: Fruit Enzyme Cleanser, {
Mychelle Dermaceuticals} or something gentle, like Cetaphil or CeraVe.
*Moisturizer: Philosophy's Hope in a Jar
*Daily Vitamins: Fish Oil/Flax Seed Oil
*Homemade Scrubs, (salt w/ honey, sugar w/lemon juice, brown sugar w/olive oil)
*Olay Pro-X Facial Cleansing Brush (like a mini-facial)

Favorite Pimple Taker-Downers
*Tea Tree Oil (dilute with water! antibacterial spot treatment)
*Aloe Vera (has amazing healing/anti-inflammatory properties)
*Apple Cider Vinegar (dilute with water! Great as a toner/regulates skin's PH)

Happy and healthy skin wishes to you all!

Love to Love

{Love. Yay!}

When it comes to life and what I enjoy most, the littlest things always win, hands down.

Cards in the mail. A new pack of gum. Finding a quarter.

I love it all. And I am officially 78 years old. I know.

My current Littlest Things Love List

*$1 ice cream cones from McDonald's.

*Designer jeans, (maternity size), for ridiculously cheap.

*Maternity jeans are basically stylish-sweatpants-ish denim and don't have zippers/buttons, which is helpful when you find yourself going to the bathroom every 20 minutes.

*My fake Clarisonic aka my Olay Pro-X.

*Ordering a Shirley Temple from the bar. Hi. It's perfect. I look 12 too.

*A Flintstones vitamin every morning. For the baby, I promise.

*Food. Any and all food. Really.

*Getting completely rid of a volcanic pimple of hormonal proportions, in one day.

Good times. Good times.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend full of things you love!

Music Makes Me Lose Control

Last night we were here. It was fabulous.

We listened to this girl and guy, (the civil wars). Kind of amazing.

Afterwards, while our ears were still rejoicing over what they had just partook in, (Partook? Partaken?), we went and grabbed ice cream cones. 10:30 PM and 70 degrees and pregnant.
It happens. often.

Home Again, Home Again. Jiggity Jig.

{bliss}

Oregon welcomed us back with rain, of course, but after 5 days in constant sunshine we were a little dried out.

Now, I have my summer skin, (when everyone asks if I'm Hawaiian), and I'm also about 4 lbs. heavier. Huzzah! I've been waiting the past 17 weeks to see those numbers on the scale rise and finally know that Baby Bean is happily munching away on whatever it is that babies munch on.
Apparently, lots of spicy food. Must be the smidge of Korean genes?

Summer 2011 is off to a perfect start. Next up: concerts, parties, camping trips, bridal/baby showers, moving, weddings up the wazoo, etc.

I will progressively waddle my way through it all.

P.S. We are planning a big babymoon trip in September! Somewhere hot and out of the good ol' U.S of A.
Any suggestions?

Is There More Bounce in California?

The 1st vacation of summer 2011 has finally arrived. I've been counting down the weeks, the days, and the hours.
More specifically, counting down for this drive-thru.
Double Double. Fries. Strawberry shake.
Dreams do come true. Obviously, I shoot for the stars and have big dreams in life.

Ok, ok. I'm excited for the lake house and spending time with family too.

I'm all set.

I've got my bikini, floppy hat, and "Water for Elephants."

And blindingly pale Oregon legs.

Be back soooooon!

Eat Drink and Be Merry

I'm clocking in at 15 weeks now. Besides the daily food baby that is created from the combination of breakfast/2nd breakfast/lunch/2nd lunch/dinner/2nd dinner, you'd have no idea I am pregnant.

Just a bloated lady with some interesting digestive problems.

Sometimes I try and stick my stomach out a little more, and then realize I probably look like I have a beer belly or the body of Jim Carrey in "The Grinch."
Fortunately, I am enjoying eating/cooking/grocery stores again. (Especially anything Mexican or with the words: bacon-cheese-and-burger).

But there is still a food foe in my life.

My homemade Lasagna.

Dun dun dunnnnnnnn.

I made two huge batches of lasagna the week before I found out I was pregnant. I was happy as a clam, while scarfing down the Prego drenched noodles, and freezing the extras.

Then, I myself, became a prego.

Week 6, morning (aka dawn-morning-afternoon-evening-dusk-twilight) sickness said hello.

I never want to see lasagna again.

Frozen lasagna giveaway perhaps?

Catch Me If You Can

{via}

Technically, I didn't blog today but I did blog today. If that makes sense.
Well, it can make sense if you mosey on over to Sam's (aka Young People in Love) blog. I basically brag about Oregon and how everyone should come visit cough*me*cough.

Check it out {here}

P.S. Don't watch Pan's Labyrinth at 2AM whilst pregnant. You will have some crazy dreams.
