I've Never Been a Cheerleader

{field of dreams}

That time of year is upon us.
Softball season #4!
It's pretty low-key.
{until the championship...which we are. The champions, that is}
Yesterday, the pitcher was holding a beer and eating a hot dog. and pitching.
This is where amazing happens, people.

I did have a moment of weakness.
Being pregnant doesn't mean you live under a rock, I said.
You should feel alive. Do some normal competitive life stuff.
Bat. Run. Catch things.
I can make a double-play and grow a human at the same time. What.

And then one of our teammates collided with another player.
Concussion. Ambulance. Loose teeth. The works.

Moment of weakness gone.

P.S. Both players were back on the field yesterday. With all of their teeth.

xoxo

Props to growing a human at the same time as other intense activities.
I'm pretty sure women rock...and men should be jealous of our skills ;)

I'm missing my volleyball season this year because of the pregnancy. I know I technically could half way play, but that isn't good enough for me. I'm way too competitive. I know I would be diving on the ground without thinking about it and that is probably not a great idea.

I'm on a softball team too! Our season just ended and we made it to the playoffs. It is so fun! Good for you for playing although pregnant!

you are brave, my friend..I used to play with my hubby on a team, until I decided to catch a 38945798457 mile high pop up with my FACE! two black eyes and one HUUUUGE bump later, I figured softball was no longer for me. Drinking beer, however, is- so i kind of cheer, sometimes..mostly for my honey..cuz he's a champion, as well :)

I tried to pick up indoor soccer again in adulthood...all it did was make me realize I'm not 17 anymore. I respect your diligence!

I always get scared when I think about joining a league, because I know that something like that is going to happen to me!

You're a good sport though - pregnancy and all!
