{my 1st diary. One out of many}
A few weekends ago, I uncovered this treasure while cleaning out boxes full of stuffed animals, books, and school projects in my parents' storage shed.
"Garbage" pile? "Goodwill" pile? "Keep" pile?
or the "Read Out Loud and Once Again Wonder How my Parents Survived Raising Me" pile?
yeah. I thought so too.
{I love you James. didn't mean to single you out.}
A letter written to my future children.
Friday, June 29th
Dear Diary,
I have been thinking.
Maybe when I grow up, have kids, and pass away, wouldn't it be fun for them to read my diary? So, I am going to write them something.
Dear Daughter/Son(s),
Hello! I am your mother, at age 11.
As you have read in the previous pages, I am a silly, hopeful, normal girl, living in an ever-changing world. I have had many many crushes, tormenting experiences, and triumphs.
Maybe a little dramatic.
But I am writing this to let you know how much I love you. Heck. I don't even know you. So let me tell you a little about me.
I am 5'3", 96 lbs, and have brown hair.
I like to wear the latest fashions, and I like rock and pop music.
Hey, I wonder who your dad is?
Is it my love, Mark?*
Did I become a famous singer? Or model?
Let's see. By the time you read this, the year will be hmmm, maybe 2070? I don't know.
Did I raise you well?
I hope you like this letter!
Love ya!
-Bonnie M.
*No. no it is not. thank you Jesus.
Dear Baby Bean,
I think I will write you a revised and updated letter soon. Many things have changed.
Except the whole being dramatic thing.
That's about the same.

You are so going to rock those earrings, my dear!

Haha this is fantastic!
I must find some of my old diaries. Something tells me that they would be equally as dramatic. Dramatic diary writers make the very best bloggers. Fo sho.
Love, Leigh

Haha you are too cute. I LOVE reading through old diaries of mine. So ridiculous. Love the thought of writing letters to your baby too :)
HAHA! I had the same "stay out pesky brother" message written at the front of my diary... I must write a post about that (:
ha i just found my old journals too, and my sister and i spent hours reading through them. i was so dramatic. also, we found a box of love letters from an old boyfriend. we almost peed our pants from how mushy and annoying they were.
but you should definitely write baby bean a letter. those are adorable.
Oh my...this post is fabulous! "Heck I don't even know you." Hilarious! "I wonder who your dad is. Is it my love Mark?" Oh man. Good stuff.
Thanks for visiting my blog!! I had to jump over and check yours out and this first post is hilarious! I can't wait to read more. :) {randeashby.blogspot.com}
Love this!!!!
I have diaires like this. They centered around boys and who my friends were. BORING!!!! Yours is too cute!
Love the diary! My mother recently gave me an old Santa letter from when I was a little kid- and I told Santa that if the reindeer preferred pealed carrots instead of regular carrots- the peeler was in the top kitchen drawer. too funny.
Hahaha this is so adorable, I love it!! xo
Awwww, that is SO sweet!! I think they really will totally love reading that one day!!
Oh. My. Goodness. What a treasure! This is amazing to still have! I got chills :) So special. Teenage me threw out so many child valuables!
Please don't ever get rid of this little diary! Your child will get a big kick of it in about 12 years! :)
This is so incredibly cute and funny! But mostly, you have made me teary-eyed. It's just so sweet!!!!
I'm in love with the asterisked comment and its note. Hindsight is 20/20 and all. *grins*
And I probably noticed this because I'm short, but 5'3'' at age eleven? Shoot. Now I'm /really/ feeling my short genes. *le sigh*
What a gem to find!! I love the note to your future children! LOL! It will be so cool for them to read some day:)
That is hilarious! It's fun to look back at yourself and see how much you've changed!
How great that you found this! I love that you didn't marry Mark, ha!
lol don't you just love it
when you open up old boxes and
you find things like this?
Old journals Old letters Old pictures
It just makes your day.
xoxo
That was so fun to read bon, bon. And yes, it is such a wonderful thing we don't end up with who we thought we wanted to be with in 5th grade. :)
Hope you and baby have a great weekend!
How sweet! Love the diary entry.
How ADORABLE! I melted inside when I read that. In a good way. It's totally good to have your insides melt, right? You should totally write the bean some more (updated) letters. That'd be the ultimate pinnacle of precious. 'Pinnacle' doesn't look like I think it should look when I write it out. Like bologna.
Love this!!
This is adorable!! You were as cute and witty as you are now... love it! :)
