Confessions of a Nanny

{Poker Face}

Yeah. I might be the coolest nanny ever.
Not only do I build a mean Lego city flat bed truck,
I am also molding young minds. America's future.
Learning how to gamble.

Poker is educational. Numbers. Letters. Strategy. Competition.

We're hardcore. No juvenile games of Chutes&Ladders for us.

Yes sir. High stakes. All or nothing.

Honestly, it's more of a Poker-Go Fish fusion.

I mean, the dealer is only 5 years old after all.

Key Rules:

The Jack magically transforms into whatever card you need
The Joker forces you to hand over all of your chips

really, we have no idea what we're doing.
and I always lose.

looks like so much fun:) you've got a very important job...shaping young minds is hard work and it sounds like you're a champ:)

Grandma taught me poker when I was young, and I absolutely believe it's educational! I'm amazed at how many different games and new rules a child can come up with when given a pack of cards. Good on you :)

We used to have the beeeest babysitter. She would make up all these challenges for us to compete against eachother. And one time we all go to be whip creamed pied in the face. I do believe it was a blast.

Poker is totally educational :) I used to nanny too, I know how tiring it can be. Awesome that you do it, and do it well :)

I didn't know you were a nanny! I've always thought that would be a really cool job... then I hear kids SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER in the mall and think otherwise lol. I'd totally hire you to be a nanny though! those people hit a gold mine! (aka you rock-- gambling and all)

I'm 25 and the only card game I've ever mastered is Go Fish (I kid you not)... The way I see it, you're doing these kids a favor. These are valuable life lessons.

HA. Amazing. My grandfather taught me to play poker at five years old. I credit him for my genius. ; )

I have no idea how to play poker, but tweaking the rules sound like fun! Somehow, when you play any type of games with kids, they always end up winning haha

i make my little one play Pretty Pretty Princess and the Bride Game even though he hates them, haha. Poker might be more his style so maybe I should have my fiance teach him!

LOL - I'm still working on the Lego's. I'm going to be making some play-dough this weekend. I'm looking forward to giving the boys a sensory experience, but not looking forward to the mess.
