Old Photos and New Posts

Last night, Daniel and I skedaddled over to my Grandparent's house for dinner.

You know.

The place to be spoiled, in true Southern hospitality-style.

(My grandparents are from Tennessee: Like, 11+ children in the family-sweet tea-grits-divinity-and molasses-Tennessee)

The place where the stud hubs can talk about football and basketball to his heart's content, and I can eat pot roast, biscuits, and lemon pie to mine.

It's also the place where photos of every single stage of your life is celebrated smack dab on the fridge.
The adorable years. The awkward phase.

I think my Grandma Bess summed it up best, "Every caterpillar transforms into a beautiful swan."

It makes sense, really.

Of course, Daniel can't get enough of those darn photos during my caterpillar years.
Especially that one up there.
Of the little boy making pizza at a Jazz festival.

P.S. Speaking of the South and people I love, check out my guest post today over at {Mackey Madness}. Sweet-as-molasses- Megan, (from the south and whom I love) asked me to share the Three Things that describe me best!
Take a peek y'all!

xoxo

Hi - nice to blog meet you! :-) If it makes you feel any better I had that same look for a couple years - everyone would think I was a boy...thank god I grew out of that! xoxo from Trinidad

You & I would have been quite the pair, me with my bangs that started at the back of my head and a poofy bowl cut.
Think about the laughs!

That picture is awesome. The boyfriend is the same way with my awkward photos, too. The ones that are by far the most embarrassing to me are the ones he just can't get enough of. I hate it!

Hahaha, sometimes I find photos I didn't even know existed at my Grandparents house. Always a humbling experience to know there was a time in my life when everyone around me probably thought "let's hope this is just a phase..." Love the boy haircut. And the fact that you never fail to crack.me.up. Xo, Katie

A dinner with grandparents sounds so fun! My grandmother has a wall of pictures in her house - thankfully she periodically updates them so they're not super embarrassing.

Loved your guest post for Megan today!

Wow. You REALLY did look like a boy. Maybe I'll grow my son's hair out so that he looks like a girl in some of the formative years--it seems to build character.

don't worry my pictures of me as a child were jacked up haircuts and perms. my older sister liked to play hairdresser and my mom was a new hairdresser and liked to give us perms. wth?! lol

awwww, at least you were a cute boy :) I had the WORST awkward phase...no one really believes me until they see my school pics from sophomore year of HS that are still completely intact because my mom didn't even cut any out to send to family. that bad.

I'm pretty sure I had an awkward "boy" summer as well, I kept letting the hairdresser chop my hair! Thanks for being open to share this with us.

I blame the parents. Why do they all do that to their children? You would think they would have given us some guidance during the duckling years! HAHA

Read your post on Megan's blog and loved it! I feel like I keep learning more and more about you :)

P.S. I had a summer as a boy, but it was more of the long-haired Leonardo DiCaprio haircut...do you remember that style? Yea, my hair looked like that.

Hope you're enjoying your weekend :)
