We're slowly beginning to get things ready for Baby Bean's arrival. Things like, packing the hospital bag, washing and folding a thousand teeny tiny socks... and practicing our hypnobirthing techniques.
I've been all natural-crunchy-granola-Ina Gaskin-rainbows-and unicorns-minded this entire pregnancy.
But I can't wrap my mind around some of the recommended birth music. Meaning, we just end up laughing. Real mature.
Anything with 80s synth, a sitar, wind flute, and humpback whale noises though...
reminds me of the good ol' college days, in {Mr. Looking Wolf's} class,
{Obviously, I was a student who formulated an intense credit course, to push myself. heh}
I just can't.even.go.there.
So, we've introduced, The Album Leaf, Damien Rice, Travis, Jamie Cullum, Amos Lee, Kye Kye, etc. into the music mix.
Maybe a little Explosions in the Sky too?
Except the word "explosion" doesn't really mesh well with the whole peaceful, relaxing vibe we're aiming for.
Darn.

Hey thank you for visiting my blog. I sure appreciate it.
Congrats on your pregnancy. Very exciting. I'm kind of leaning toward the hypnobirthing thing too. My husband looks at me like I'm crazy every time I mention the word. I think I'm going to need some birth stories on it's success to get him into it. I was also a little worried about the music. I may have to add some of your stuff in. Thanks for the tip:)
I had a friend say the same thing about the music! Haha. I want to hear this stuff and get a good laugh out of it! So exciting that you're getting all ready for Baby Bean! :]
You are so random. Lol. ;)
love love love this.
my mr. and i were just discussing our baby-welcoming playlist (& how i refuse to listen to the beatles as i push and shove that little creature out) and explosions in the sky is my number one request (demand.) :]
Ah! How exciting!! I can only imagine how adorable those tiny feet will be that will fill those tiny socks :)
How exciting that its almost time for baby bean!! :)
Mmmm Damien Rice... :)
excellent choices :) love the album leaf! xoxoxo brynn
Don't you think some Rage Against the Machine would be better ;)
I've never been in labor but I feel like it's going to be one of those events where angry music is needed. Or does that mess up a child's psyche? My kids are doomed.
e x c i t i n g !
i can't wait til
the baby is here!
i am getting anxious by

Sooo exciting! You're getting so close! Baby's going to have the best taste in music EVER.
Thank you for visiting my blog, Bon Bon! I've been reading your's and you've got some great stuff to read. Congratulations on your bun in the oven! So exciting! My husband and I are about to be at the point where we are ready to start trying and I'm so anxiously excited!
Sounds like some great tunes. :) Don't know if you've ever seen NBC's show, Chuck... but there was an episode where two of the goofball characters went to the hospital when one of the characters was having a baby. They sang "Push It" by Salt 'n' Pepa. Totally *horrible* in a I-couldn't-stop-laughing way. (Which if you feel so inclined, you can see a clip of here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLEviYJdTBE) You definitely have better music choices. ;)
I love this! Definitely has me dreaming of my synth keyboard back in the day. Hope the baby prep continues to go well! What more could a kid ask for than parents with such good taste?
AMAZING picks. Your kid is gonna have a grand entrance to the world with that mix. And you as parents of course. :)
haha!
i'm totally with you on that. listening to enya while in labor would NOT make me feel relaxed, but rather like i wanted to punch someone in the face. not a good state of mind for a relaxed birth. i may have to steal some of your suggestions, although one of my friends already made me a pretty freaking great birth mix, so maybe i'll just have to have two.
oh...and did you and daniel end up reading hypnobirthing? or did you take a class?
