My Makeup Bag

Ahhh. Makeup. War paint. What have you.
As much as I love beauty products, I do have to admit a few things: Usually, I just dab on some chapstick, curl my lashes, pinch my cheeks, and away I go.
My pretty bottles and sparkly shadows wait patiently for a night out on the town. Then there was that one time I went 4 months without wearing any makeup. I've never felt more beautiful.
A true kind of beauty.

{My Two Cents}

*I invest in good brushes and splurge on face products/eyeshadows (high pigments).
*Trend items: ex. Coral lipstick/Liquid liner/etc. Buy Cheap (wet N' wild/e.l.f)! No reason to spend a bunch of money on something you might only wear once or twice.
*Expensive Mascara...meh. Honestly. I feel like I've used them all, and really, mascara is mascara. A tube of black inky stuff. Covergirl LashBlast is one of my favorite drugstore picks. {I'm a hypocrite though: I've always used DiorShow just because the MUA would always use it on me back in my modeling days. Yes. I've been brainwashed.}

Lindsay over at Scenic Glory is holding a "What's in Your Makeup Case?" contest. If you'd like to vote for me, go {here} and leave a, "Bon Bon is #1!" comment. Or, "Go Bon Bon Go!" I don't know. I'm just throwing things out there. I think I got some sparkles in my brain.

If I win, maybe I'll finally make that eyeliner tutorial you all, (all 7 of you), have been requesting.
And if I don't win. Well. I'll still make the tutorial. I'm nice like that.

xoxo

Love it!
I wish I could go without make up but for some reason I always have to wear it.. at least a little bit!

hahah I LOVE that you called it war paint. So true. I am with you. NOT a fan of make up. I'm getting my bridal pictures taken on Friday and I'm honestly dreading getting my make up done and my nails done.

I have the same boi-ing concealer as you! And I definitely agree with the expensive mascara advice, I love Lancome Hypnose.
And I voted for you! Good luck!

So at first I saw that little bag and I thought, how does the beauty queen fit everything in there? That's it? And then the roll of snapshots began and I was like hooray! I also use makeup forever liquid foundation, any ol mascara, and always up for a little bit o sparkle! Now I have to go vote for you bc obviously you are #1 and I am requesting an eyeliner tutorial! Same time same place tomorrow beauty queen? xox!

sometimes I buy a new color. It always sits unused. I tend to do the same routine over and over. Why mess with a good thing, right?

I'm the same- I have lots of beautiful makeup but generally, I wear very little. I love your pretty bag!

agreeeeed on the mascara, every time I see a commercial I want to raise a coup and say HEY, it is allll the same folks.

I failed makeup 101. Although I do love the bare escentuals powders. I actually stare at myself in my review mirror some days. Sure, dangerous...perhaps.

I usually wear very little makeup. Just like you.
And my makeup is always the cheap one. haha

Agreed girl...invest in good brushes and high quality face stuff! I never pay more than 9 bucks for mascara, liner or lip gloss (:

Good brushes are so worth it, you are right and really mascara is nothing more than just some tube of black inky stuff. I never spend more than $10 on one unless I go for clinique's high impact mascara once a year. The best mascara I once used only cost $2.50. Unfortunatley I don't remember where I got that one from. :(
I hardly splurge on any of my products, except for when I am 249% sure the product is worth its money, which hardly happens.

Sooooo true! I bought a lip gloss for $18 once and it makes me sick to wear it. Literally, I vomit. Okay, not really, but I want to.

PS: I'm going to vote for you!

I really like the Fossil bag. And I totally agree, good brushes are a must, and mascaras are more or less the same. :)

wow, you have lots of options there. if i had that all out and for every day use i would get way too overwhelmed. i have my basics and then i bust out the fun stuff when i'm going out.

You are so organized. I don't have a lot of make-up, but everything is a jumbled mess in my make-up bag. I would be way too embarrassed to ever show it on the blog.

Bon Bon, as usual your blog makes me smile. I'm going to vote for you now, tralalala (that's my going-to-vote song)... I'm excited for the eyeliner tutorial but if you get a chance, I'd like to hear your thoughts on brow maintenance -mine are decidedly and genetically unruly.

Haha. I love your two cents! I used to buy nice make-up until I got married...now it's just the chepo stuff...but you've reminded me that I do need to replace my brushes. The poor little guys are so worn out!

Ooooo! Look at all that goodnesss!!!! I am the same as you though... I have so much stuff from my days working at Clinique, but wear the bare minimum daily. Brushes are a must have though... <3

Oh my dear, I am swooning over all of that beautiful makeup. I'm just getting into really nice make-up and I've been obsessing over it all week - so this was a perfect post for me. I haven't even thought about all of the brushes one needs!!

loved this post-I always enjoy learning what other people are using..husband just doesn't quite give the input and advice I need! Even with all the makeup we girls own nowadays, its so good to feel confident and valued without it...so good for you for 4 whole months without!!
