Generation Apple

When I first moved out of my parents' house after high school, on any given night I'd receive a phone call from them.
You'd think it would be them asking me how I was doing.
Telling me of how a single tear rolls down their face every time a glance into my bedroom was met with chilled emptiness.
That life was not the same without my constant wit, beauty, and charm in their day to day.
You'd think.

Then the reality of life in the form of my Dad's voice would come through the speaker,
"Hi Bonnie, we are trying to watch a movie, but now the sound isn't working on the tv."

Throw the addition of wi-fi, laptops, smart phones and iPods into the mix and I'd almost become an episode of "Outsourced." Only, funnier.

Little did I know, that my generation had been groomed for this. All those years of Super Mario, Windows 95, and blasting Celine Dion's "Let's Talk About Love" on my Discman had prepared me for these phone calls.

...

So, what is Baby Bean being prepared for?
Rocket scientist. Presidential candidate. Ikea "Blirgenblag" creator.
The sky is the limit.
I mean, he promptly opened Photo Booth and pressed "enter" to take those photos. All by his 7 month self.

And then he broke my left arrow key off and attempted to eat it.

xoxo

isn't this the truth. my 3 year old can work my iphone and sky's the limit with my 4 year old. he's an old pro with the computer. i can't imagine what the future holds for technology but i wish i could imagine it. then i'd be rich!

Sandy still calls me for computer/technology advice. It's like, c'mon now Mom. Baby Bean is going to take over the world.

Sounds like Baby Bean is going to be the next Steve Jobs!

My mom totally does the same thing (as does the bf's parents and grandparents). My mom even called me from a McDonald's in Texas and asked me how she can connect to "that wireless internet thing."

You are too funny. This reminds me of the youtube video where the little baby is trying to treat the magazine like an Ipad!

LOL! i get those kind of phone calls too! but the thing is that i'm trying to explain it to my grandpa which is OLDDDDDDDDDDDDD! so one time i was on the phone with him because the songs that he was listening to on youtube weren't loud enough. it took an hour for me to tell him how to do it -___________- ohhhh boy.

Haha that's great! So true although I wish kids now a days would play more outside and spend less time with their face in a game!

I totally agree with you! My six and seven year old are so computer savvy. They're like little sponges. Don't get me started on my 14 year old. He's quite whiz with technology. I'm barely able to keep up. You little boy is just too adorable for words! He's a smart little one. Your parents are blessed to have you. :) Love your blog just found it and joined it!

isn't it so crazy, there is so much about technology that our generation naturally understands that the previous generations just can. not. get. although i will say my 77 year old grandmother is doing insanely well with her ipads and computers and such. but as for the babies, i can't even imagine what they'll be using in the future!

Haha this is so true in our family too! Sometimes we answer the phone to my Dad "hello Robinson IT helpdesk". Although recently we have seen a shift in the reason for calling, now we always get "how is the baby?", "what is the baby doing?" ... Ar well it's nice to have a bit variiation!
